Exciting times!

It’s been a little over 2 months since I finished teaching at the polytechnic, and after initially thinking that I would miss working there, I have found that I have gained a renewed love of food and cooking, something that I was missing in my life, but had somehow become unaware of until I started working in a commercial kitchen again. I do miss the fantastic team of guys that I was lucky enough to work with at the polytechnic, and I miss the students, and seeing them grow into confident professionals, but it has become apparent that I have been missing the adrenaline rush that comes from working a busy service, the rush that you get when you and the team around you manage a lunchtime session, and the building is bursting at the seams, and it seems that you can’t possibly serve all of the guests in a reasonable amount of time, but you do, and they all leave happy and content, and better still they come back again, and again, it’s a buzz that takes some beating, when you are a part of a living breathing machine, and that machine is well oiled and running smoothly. I really am loving being back in the crazy world of the hospitality industry.
